The Magellan 9500 Omega's EAS tag deactivation system minimizes Failure to Deactivate incidents and the SurroundScan Technology efficiently scans all 6 sides of an item using an impressive 64 lines aligned in a broad, dense pattern that enables outstanding performance. Several features make the Magellan 9500 Omega extremely versatile such as supporting multiple host interfaces such as RS-232 (single or dual cable), IBM46XX, and IBM USB right out the box and should an RS-232 customer decide to migrate to USB it simply requires changing the interface cable and reconfiguring the scanner with a few barcode labels. The scanner's flash memory allows for easy software upgrades and new decoding capabilities, software based features, or new symbologies can all be updated through the scanners auxiliary or host port ensuring convenient migration and future industry compatibility.
