PPP and SSH for creating secure IP networks over serial connection
Digi's PortServer TS M MEI, with the addition of an internal modem, allows the user to create connections from serial devices to Ethernet networks, as well as over standard phone lines. The modem helps to create a PPP connection, a TCP/IP connection over modem, so that applications and devices can communicate via an IP network, even when the primary LAN or WAN is not available. The switch selectable RS-232/422/485 provides an easy connection to any serial device. PortServer TS M MEI also features patented Digi RealPort redirector for COM or TTY port control and management, and SSH for creating secure IP network.
