A compact and intelligent swipe reader for magnetic stripes.

The MiniMag magnetic stripe reader is ideal for point of sale and other table or desk top locations. The MiniMag has a small foot print, allowing it to fit in nearly any space. Three data tracks are read on each pass, and the data read is announced with an LED and an audible beep. Available interfaces include TTL, serial (RS-232), keyboard wedge kits and USB.

ID Tech MiniMag Details

Fits in tight places. The MiniMag Intelligent Swipe Reader is designed for POS and desktop applications where space is at a premium. The entire unit is just 90mm long (about the length of a credit card), giving it the smallest footprint of any unit with comparable features.

Edits and formats data. The MiniMag is a fully intelligent swipe reader that can be programmed to divide, rearrange, edit, and validate fields of magnetic card data. It automatically distinguishes between AAMVA and CA DMV formats.

Reads magnetic stripes. The MiniMag reads up to three tracks of information with a single swipe in either direction. Its standard-length slot makes it easy to use. Both beeper* and LED indicators signal a successful read.

Versatile, low cost. The MiniMag Intelligent Swipe Reader delivers exceptional functionality and value in the smallest possible package. It can be used as a free-standing unit, or permanently mounted using the threaded inserts in the bottom of the reader. (The cable can exit through the bottom as well.) TTL, RS-232, keyboard wedge, and USB/Keyboard interfaces are available, as well as a port-powered version that utilizes an RS-232 interface but requires no power supply. * Beeper not available with port-powered model.
