Portable Barcode Scanners
Portable barcode scanner is used often used to describe three different types of barcode scanners:
- Cordless barcodes scanners
- send scanned barcodes wirelessly to a base-station connected to a computer
- Batch barcodes scanners

- store a limited number of scanned barcodes internally before transmitting them to a computer wirelessly or when docked into their base station
- Portable data terminals (PDT's)
- mobile handheld computers with a built in barcode scanner. They can synch their data to a computer via a cable or send and recieve information through a wireless network.
