  • Distributed Entry of Items
    This feature allows multiple people (volunteers) to install ResourceMate® on their home computers, enter items and transfer them to the main computer via diskette, cd or e-mail attachment. The person in charge of the library will then take the volunteer's file and merge those entered items into the main database.
  • Bar Coding
    Simplify the process of circulating items by using a bar code scanner. Bar code labels and scanner are not included with ResourceMate® Plus. Choose between three bar code configurations:
    • 1) a 14-digit number, with the first digit being a '3' for item bar codes or a '2' for patron bar codes; the final digit is a mod10 check digit
    • 2) a generic numeric format with no check digit that can vary in length from 1 to 20-digits.
    • 3) a generic numeric format similar to 2) but bar codes beginning with a letter(s)

Scanners and pre-printed bar code labels are available from us or from several popular library supply companies.

    Accumulate history of circulation activity. Generate and report historical and/or statistical information.

  • EntryMate Service: No merge fee
    Pay only the conversion fee and no merge fee when using our EntryMate™ service. The merge capabilities are already built into the Plus version.
  • Import from Librarian’s Helper
    For those who have used Librarian’s Helper in the past, you may import that data into ResourceMate®.
  • MARC Import / Export
    ResourceMate® allows you to enter items by importing records in MARC format. Book suppliers or other software vendors often supply these records. Call us to ensure your particular MARC format is compatible. Export your items to MARC as well.
  • Item Export
    In addition to MARC exporting, the Plus version can export and print any grid layout you have created. Export to Excel, Html or Ascii.
  • Year end Inventory Reporting (and optional hand-held scanner rental service)
    The Plus version can generate Inventory Reports that can help you determine exactly what items are missing from your collection. Determine who last checked out missing items. As well, you can rent a

General

  • "How Do I" button in top right corner of every form that will answer commonly asked questions specific to that form.
  • Tip of the Day.
  • Change font name and size for all screens, and change font name and size for all reports.

Cataloging

  • Additional fields - Donated By, Donated Date, In Memory Of, Volume, Edition, Language, Physical Description, Purchase Price (different than Replacement Value), Source, Rating, Condition, ISSN, Large Print, Illustrator, Editor,and Reading Program fields.
  • Establish Authority entries (Master Lists) that will not be deleted from the list regardless of whether any Items have that value (eg. Category list that librarian has established).
  • Store URL (web address) related to an item.
  • Establish default values for all Item fields.
  • Establish any Item field as a required field (eg. Category). Item cannot be saved until a value has been entered.
  • Patrons have an additional Student Number field.

Circulation

  • Check-out and Check-in can be batched so user can confirm transactions before applying them.
  • All Circulation at a glance - easily see Overdues. Sort by Patron, Item, or Due Date.
  • Manually add to the Waiting/Reserve List.
  • Renew remaining Items for a Patron.

Reports

  • Output reports to pdf, rtf(Word), ascii, xls, bmp, jpg, tif, html.
  • E-mail reports to any e-mail address.
