The RP40 multiCLASS is a multi-technology card reader designed for customers upgrading their current card system from HID Prox to iCLASS credentials. With the RP40 multiCLASS, the customer has the ability to transition to smart cards over time while incorporating the use of multiple card technologies within a single building or across multiple facilities. Unlike contactless smart card serial number readers, with the RP40 multiCLASS, you get enhanced security through mutual authentication and data encryption. Using 13.56 MHz contactless smart card technology, the iCLASS RK40 6130 provides a powerful solution. Combine a contactless card presentation with a personal identification number (PIN) to support dual authentication of identity or configure the panel for single-factor authentication, using only a card or a PIN. The PIN can be verified either at the access control panel or locally by the keypad reader. When verified locally, the PIN must be programmed into the iCLASS card. Featuring crisp architectural styling, the keypad reader has an elegantly curved faceplate. The 12-position weatherproof keypad uses discrete switches to provide positive tactile response, optionally reinforced by an audible tone. The keypad also features a waterproof silicone rubber boot, vandal-resistant metal keycaps, and backlit numbering.

iCLASS SE Card was specifically designed to make access control more powerful, more versatile, and more secure, with encryption for all radio frequency data transmission between the credential and reader using a secure algorithm. The iCLASS SE Card extends this technology by providing additional key diversification, authentication, encryption and portability for advanced security and performance.

HID can also embed a wide range of commercially available contact chips, or customers can select HID's off-the-shelf Crescendo multi-technology smart card, providing strong authentication options with logical access systems. If users wish to embed their own chip, the embeddable cards come standard as a composite card body. The 1536 card is available in standard PVC construction, or a composite polyester/PVC construction for more demanding high wear and tear environments. For Like all HID ISO cards, the 1536 card can be produced with visual security and anti-counterfeiting features such as holograms, ultra-violet fluorescent inks, micro-printing, or a custom logo to quickly and easily identify genuine cards.
