Datalogic Diamond Barcode Scanner

When it comes to efficiency for point of sale operations, the Diamond is the ideal solution as it combines a high first pass decoding rate with outstanding reliability and simplicity of use. Small, compact and flexible combined with high performance. These are the distinctive features that characterize the Diamond, Datalogic's step ahead in omnidirectional scanning. In addition, the built-in protective sleeve protects the unit from shocks and prevents possible damage caused by drops from the counter. The architecture of the Diamond provides many benefits at a point-of-sale. The visible laser diode allows the product to generate a scan pattern of 16 lines for 1200 scans per second. A single line scan option is also available. This feature, combined with excellent ergonomics, allows the Diamond to be used as a handheld scanner as well. The reduced footprint and intelligent stand allows a variety of configurations at the counter when the product needs to fit in a small space. A single multiple interface model (USB, Wedge and RS-232) provides flexibility and compatibility with the former DLL2020 by simply replacing the plug-in cables. The Diamond is equipped with the Datalogic code reconstruction system that allows reading of non-oriented labels placed in various positions on objects or poorly printed or damaged codes. The reader can be also configured in sleep mode to minimize consumption when it is not active. It automatically wakes up when a code is detected.

The DLL2020/21 represents the ideal solution on the counter: compactness and robustness guarantee easy and quick cash-out operations. It can be left on its stand or picked up to scan bar codes. The “single line option,” available on the DLL2021, allows the scanner to be used as a hand-held reader. It generates a single line, making it easier to aim when it is picked up and used to scan items that cannot be lifted onto the counter or to scan a single bar code on a bar code list.

The DLL2020/21-W provides the most compact footprint so that it could fit practically anywhere, resolving problems of space at the Point of Sale. The advanced technology applied to this compact scanner provides major benefits in reading performance and guarantees the highest “First-Pass” decoding rate. The ergonomics and ease of use are enhanced by the built-in protecting sleeve, which protects the unit from shocks and prevents possible drops from the counter, thanks to the Antiskid feature. Using a high visible laser diode, the omni-directional scan field of the DLL2020/21-W generates a scan pattern of 16 lines, capable of 800 scan lines per second. The “single line” option represents a distinctive feature of the DLL2021-W. By pressing the button, this omni-directional device becomes a single line laser scanner allowing the user to correctly aim the laser beam at the bar code to be read in handheld applications. The bar code is decoded once the button is released. The EAS optional kit, which allows deactivation of EAS tags at the time of scanning, can be purchased afterwards to upgrade the reader. A configurable “sleep” mode is available to minimise power consumption when the unit is idle. The DLL2020/21-W “wakes-up” by simply pressing the button on the upper side of the device. Connection of the scanner to the POS is guaranteed by an efficient series of plug-in cables. In addition, it can be directly powered by the POS system, without the external power supply, reducing the number of cables near the counter. The DLL2020/21-W’s main features include compactness, flexibility, reliability and connectivity, making it a cost-effective investment that meets current and future Point of Sale requirements, as well as maximising customer service.
